The British Colombia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has revealed it is implementing an enhanced identification program at its casinos on 26 June.

The new requirements scheme will help people in the Game-Break self-exclusion program and mandate that every person will need to show photo identification to be granted access to the casino.

The ID will be scanned and checked against the database of people who’re excluded from entering the casino premises.

Furthermore, the program will not store the personal information of individuals that are given access to the gambling floor.

Pat Davis, BCLC’s President and CEO, said of the new identification program: “Since announcing last month that these changes were coming, BCLC has been working to build awareness with our players about the new entry requirements and why they matter in helping us to support individuals who have asked for our help.

“We believe that BC is the first jurisdiction in North America to require ID at the casino door, an example of BCLC’s continued work towards our ambition of having the healthiest players in the world.”

Reviews of the program are staunchly in favour of it,real poker which shows that participants believe that ID checks at the facilities are the best way of supporting those that have self-excluded.

Additionally, Gambling Support BC offers free prevention, treatment and support services to residents of British Columbia.

Players are advised that identification may be required even before formal implementation to verify age and/or identity, as identification is also screened for procedures like jackpot prize claims.
